Announcing Fall 2019 TW Training Camp

TW Training camp is now in season (previously known as the Gauntlet) and we’re ready to announce our 7 startups! We’ve searched across the globe in five different locations; London, Canada, New York, San Francisco, and Dallas.

This class marks our 7th class at Tech Wildcatters. The addition of these 7 companies will bring the total number of companies in the Tech Wildcatters portfolio to 157.  Interested in getting to know more about our companies?

Michael Maponga

AfroLandTV 

Afroland is an online streaming TV platform for Pan African TV shows and movies. Content library ranges from African American, African, Black-European, Afro-Latino, and the Caribbean.

Founder Info

Michael Maponga | An actor with two international box office films (Finding Mother 1 & 2), winner of the Entrepreneur Trailblazer Award by the Professional Association of Young Africans and frequent Film Festival Panelist.


Shobhit Mehrotra

Airlitix

Airlitix is disrupting the Precision Ag Tech space by providing autonomous drones in the indoor Greenhouse environment to autonomously scan for pest and disease issues, and provide timely crop health analytics back to the Grower, for more informed Greenhouse management decisions and profitable crop production.

Founder Info 
Shobhit Mehrotra | Technologically inclined data driven entrepreneur. Two technical M.S. degrees plus coursework in investment analysis and engineering management. 10+ years in the financial markets trading stocks, commodities, options, and Forex. Ex-researcher with 4 publications in ES&T journals. Passionate about project management, automation, AI, and machine learning.


Micheal Kiel

Boat Planet

Boat Planet is an online marketplace where boat owners can find, compare, and book trusted and reviewed marine businesses. It gives marine businesses a platform to showcase their services and build trust with potential customers. Boat Planet is creating the Houzz for boat owners.

Micheal Kiel | Boat enthusiast that heads up a 30,000+ member Facebook group for boaters at Lake of the Ozarks. Former Co-Founder and COO of an inbound marketing agency and top HubSpot partner. Michael's first startup was a Los Angeles based real estate and design firm that specialized in helping businesses find, design, and furnish creative office spaces..


Petr Straksky

iCEIBA

iCEIBA is a complex business combining innovation in Blockchain, FinTech, as well as LegalTech and therefore needs an ecosystem, which provides expertise in all those areas, as well as access to talent, customers, and partners. I believe that Tech Wildcatters delivers precisely that and at large the entire Texan startup ecosystem.”

Petr Straksky | Led the expansion and growth of digital media service company to $20M in revenues and later sale to NASDAQ Listed company. Restructured digital media technical services group bought out from public company into two successful spin-offs. Launched several digital payment programs used today by 4M+ people in public transport (Central Europe, Philippines, Mexico)

Alexander Drummond

GatePay

Crypto payment processing for all businesses. GatePay is a suite of payment applications that powers cryptocurrency commerce for businesses of all shapes and sizes. It can even be integrated with legacy payment infrastructure.

Founder Info

Alexander Drummond | Launched a fiber-to-the-home initiative in Quincy, IL around the time Google Fiber was announced. Despite not attracting Google, every house in Quincy will have the ability to connect to the internet with at least 1 Gbps symmetric connection speeds.


Munchkin Mailbox

Munchkin Mailbox is a web platform for licensed childcare facilities and parents. For parents, we eliminate existing points of friction in the daycare application process. Parents may use the site to search for childcare providers within a geographic region, select as many as they wish, and complete applications in a simple 4-step process. After they have submitted applications, parents will be able to check their application status and withdraw applications.

Anna Levin | BFA in Photography and Masters of Landscape Architecture. Former UX Lead at Comcast and Capital One, currently UX Lead at Insight Digital Innovation.



Parkaze

Parkaze is a hassle-free, community-powered parking and navigation platform where you can host and rent privately owned parking spots.Launching this fall in Boston.

Amal Radhakrishnan | Passionate entrepreneur hustling through the US start-up ecosystem. M.S. in Computer Science from Boston University. 2 years work experience including Management Consulting, Automotive, and Information Technology
